Code No. 12: Prevacuum / Depressurizing OR Drainage Fault

Problem Description:

Vacuum time exceeded – The device is having trouble generating vacuum at the right level in the required time.

Possible causes include:

  • Worn or contaminated chamber door gasket
  • A blocked or kinked red drain hose
  • A full wastewater container (red cap)
    • A vacuum pump malfunction
  • Problems with the safety valve, solenoid valves, or heat exchanger
  • More severe failures involving the steam generator, sterilization chamber, or mainboard

Remember about the proper maintenance:

  • Clean the tray weekly with a mild, chlorine-free detergent safe for aluminum. Rinse and dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
  • Clean the door gasket every 100 cycles using warm water and a microfiber cloth. Do not use sharp tools or chemicals. Dry with the device open.
  • Clean the inside of the chamber weekly using a mild, chlorine-free detergent. Dry with a soft cloth.
  • Check the water tank monthly. If dirty, or empty, clean, and refill with proper water.

Remember!

  • Use the proper water. Only demineralized or distilled water should be used. The total mineral content must be below 10 ppm, or in terms of conductivity, below 15 μS/cm.
  • Replace the Magic Filter every 1,000 cycles, or 6 months, or when change color to amber is noticed.

How to solve it:
  • Check and empty the used water from the bottle with the red cap.
  • Ensure the red drain hose is not submerged, kinked, or pointing upward at any point — it must run downward along its entire length
  • Clean the chamber door gasket to ensure proper sealing.
  • Verify the autoclave has sufficient airflow around it for cooling.
